Volume 2189, I-38587 [TRANSLATION -- TRADUCTION] CONVENTION CONCERNING THE STATE FRONTIER LINE ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE KINGDOM OF MOROCCO AND THE PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ALGERIA His Majesty the King of Morocco and His Excellency the President of the Council of the Revolution, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, In compliance with the Treaty of Ifrane dated 15 January 1969, the Joint Declaration of Tlemcen of 27 May 1970, the Joint Communiqué of Rabat of 6 June 1972 and the Algerian and Moroccan Declaration of Rabat dated 15 June 1972, Considering the delimitation treaty concluded at Lalla Magnia on 18 March 1845, in its provisions delimiting the Algerian-Moroccan frontier, and subsequent texts, in particular the Convention of 20 July 1901 and the Agreement of 20 April 1902, in their provisions delimiting the frontier between the two States, Have decided for that purpose to conclude this Convention and have appointed their Plenipotentiaries, namely: His Excellency Ahmed Taibi Benhima, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Member of the Council of the Revolution, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Who, having exchanged their full powers, found in good and due form, have agreed on the following provisions: Article 1 The High Contracting Parties jointly agree that the State frontier established between Algeria and Morocco, from the meridian 08o 40' at Taniet Sassi, shall follow the line indicated on the maps1 numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, annexed to this Convention of which they form an integral part. The frontier line is defined as follows: From the meridian 08º 40' which it followed earlier, the Algerian-Moroccan frontier runs along the Thalweg of Oued Draa following in a north-easterly direction the crest line from Djebel Tazout (the military post located there remaining in Moroccan territory) as far as its eastern extremity at the place called Kheneg ben Zermine. It continues in a north-easterly direction over the Kreb overlooking Oued Draa passing through Rich El Bergat, Kheneg Ergab, Oumm Matifis, Tarf Dzoll, El Breidja Medya as far as Foum Tangarfa (the military post located there remaining in Moroccan territory). 1.
