Dear Members and Friends,
As

we are nearing the Summer, it is
time to reflect on the changes occurring
at your Atlanta Chapter of the French
American Chamber of Commerce.
First, we have moved into our new offices on May, 27th in the Lenox Building. We are now in the same offices as
the French Consulate and Ubifrance.
We have upgraded our offices, clearly
improved our visibility and it is much
more easier of access. We are now part
of “Maison de France” and we are
thankful to those French organization
for reaching out to us.
Second, Michele Oliveres, our President
since 2008 has been named President
Emeritus at a Board Meeting that took
place on April, 1st, 2010. Michele’s
work and unique contribution has been
recognized by the Board as she always
got that involvement in the Chamber
and we are very thankful to her for that.
The Board Members elected a new
President of the FACC, Jim Blair who
officially took up his duty as of June,
1st, 2010. Previously a Vice President
of the Chamber, Jim is a Senior Manager with the Georgia Department of the
Economic Development. He has spent
17 years of his career with their State
representation in Brussels where he had
the time to polish his French ! We wish
him good luck in his new functions.
We held a spectacular Passport to
France at the InterContinental Hotel
Buckhead on May, 14th, 2010 where we

celebrated the 25th anniversary of the
FACC Atlanta chapter. With more than
160 attendees, we organized an exhibit of
French Luxury Companies with a taste of
the best French restaurants in town, a
buffet of international delicacies, an attractive Casino Night and of course our
silent auctions with several trips to
France thanks mainly to our generous
sponsors Air France/Delta Air Lines/
KLM.
A huge thank you to all of our sponsors
and partners, to our interns Malikat
Rachadi and Evandra Semedo who did
an outstanding job in the search for sponsors and in the overall organization of the
event.
As we look into the future, we have the
Club Vendome kick-off party on June,
24th at Roche Bobois. This exciting
event will feature French luxury companies exhibiting some of their products.
Our New Member reception will be on
September, 1st at the Atmosphere Restaurant. We have several other corporate
networking projects and you will know
more when details will be finalized.
We wish you a terrific summer whether
you will be in France or in the US, at the
beach or in the mountains, in family or at
work!
