Sweet Tiny Hoodie
This is a one-piece little coat for a Mini-Corolle : a French baby doll of 20cm (8inches).
You’ll only have to sew body sides and sleeves.
The coat is in stockinette st with garter hem on sleeves, hood and bottom. A slight detail on
the back provides the hood to fit its head quite well.
Request techniques : picking up stitches and 3 needle binding off (to close the hood).
Materials :
** approx 60 m of sport yarn... shown in :
* Phildar Partner 3,5 : colorway pink 25g needed
* Cheval Blanc Bamboulene : colorway coquelicot
(26g)
** pair of 3.5mm needle
** spare needle or security pin
** optional circular 3.5mm needle (for the hood)
** 2 buttons
Gauge :
23 sts x 29-30 rows
for 10x10 cm with 3.5mm needles
Abreviations:
K : knit
P : purl
RS : right side of the work
WS : wronght side of the work
Yo : yarn over
Cdd : center double decrease = slip 2 sts together knitwise, knit one, pass slipped sts over
Sl1, k1, psso : slip one stitch purlwise, knit one stich, pass slipped stitch over
K2tog : knit 2 stitches together
CO : cast on
BO : bind off
Instructions :
1) Body :
CO 26 sts with 3.5mm needles
Rows 1 to 4 : knit = 2 bars in garter st = 1cm
Rows 5 to 14 : knit on RS, purl on WS = 10 rows in stockninette st = 3cm (approx 4 cm from
cast on row)
Row 15 : k26, CO 4
Row 16 : p30, CO 4
Row 17 : k34, CO 4
Row 18 : k3, p35, CO 4
Row 19 : k42
Row 20 : k3, p36, k3.
Rows 21 to 24 : repeat (19-20) 2 more times. Work measures approx 7 cm from cast on row.
Row 25 : k14,* put 14sts on a spare needle or a safety pin*. K14 with the other strand of the
skein. Sleeves are worked at the same time but can also be worked separately, then follow
purple instruction for left front and red ones for right front.

2) Hood :
Row 1 : pick up and knit all sts (= 48 sts) around the neck except the 6 sts in garter st.
Row 2 and all next WS rows : k3, p to 3 last st , k3
Row 3 : k16, cdd, k10, cdd, k16. 44 st remaining
Row 5 : k15, cdd, k8, cdd, k15 = 40 st
Row 7 : k15, sl1, k1, psso, k6, k2tog, k15 = 38 sts
Row 9 : k15, sl1, k1, psso, k4, k2tog, k15 = 36 sts
Row 11 : k15, sl1, k1, psso, k2, k2tog, k15 = 34sts.
Rows 12 to 34 : Work even (3 garter, 28 st.st., 3
garter) for 23 rows. Hood should measure 11 cm
following garter hem, or 19cm from cast on row if
measured in the middle of back.
Separe sts into 2 group of 17 sts and close hood on
WS with 3 needle binding off.
Sew sleeves and body sides, sew buttons on the left
front, weave in lose ends and enjoy !
