ENGLISH TEXT
On the island of Syros, capital of Cyclades, on the south east of the island there is for
sale a sea front villa in the area of Poseidonia on 4.893sq.m land, within the town plan.
A prestigious property located 5 meters on the sea level, surrounded by buttresses
stone walls that run the full length of the sea front.
The villa was built in the 1850.s by Ioannis Vlyssidis one of the most important Greek
architects of that period. The house itself retains an architectural simplicity witch harmonize wonderfully with the surrounding landscape. Facing the house there is a small
beach with crystal clear sea, and two of the most beautiful beaches of Syros are a few
steps away.
The house is on two levels overlooking the sea, and in one level overlooking the garden. The total surface of the main house is 220sq.m including two separate rooms of
15sq.m each. There are 4 bedrooms with sea views a dining room, a bathroom and a
separate W.C. There are two verandas, one of them enclosed with glass panes and from
there unobstructed sunset views to the sea, the beach, the small port of Poseidonia and
the tourist port of Finikas; the second veranda (east) overlooks a large garden with fig
trees, olive trees, eucalyptus, pistachio, aloes, capers etc..
The thicknesses of the stone walls are 60 cent. There is a second cistern in the house, a
well, a large pool for rainwater.
There are a lot of amenities close by such as Super markets, taverns, bakery, pharmacy
and and 12 km the hospital of Ermoupolis.
Poseidonia has long been the preferred place of resort, especially for the bourgeois of
Ermoupolis and Athens, with the magnificent residences of the 19th century.
In Ermoupolis every summer there is a festival which includes cultural activities as
music, theater, cinema, painting etc. And several social clubs. Education public and
private schools, universities, etc.
Dancing, Olympic swimming pool, tennis public and private gyms, sail and scuba diving. These events are open all year round.
Airport connecting with Athens regularly and daily ferries to nearby islands Mykonos,
Tinos, Paros, Naxos, Santorini etc. A shipyard , a marine, and three sites for pleasure,
etc. This Greek island is full of beauty and charm with its preserved landscapes, its
authenticity and its traditional villages. Ermoupolis, with its neo-classical Venetian
buildings is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece.

Deux vérandas: l’une a ouest, complètement vitrée, vue imprenable sur la mer, sur la
plage, sur le petit port de Poseidonia et sur le port touristique de Finikas; le soir on peut
admirer le coucher du soleil; l’autre véranda (à l’est) donne sur un grand jardin arboré,
avec figuiers, oliviers, eucalyptus, pistachiers, aloès, câpres etc.
L’épaisseur des murs, en pierres, est de 60 cm. Deux citernes et un puits, plus un grand
bassin transformable en piscine.
Beaucoup de commodités à proximité telles que supermarchés, tavernes, boulangerie,
pharmacie.
Poseidonia a été longtemps le lieu privilégiée de la bourgeoisie et de les armateurs
d’Ermoupolis et de Athènes, avec ce magnifiques résidences du 19 ème siècle.
Ermoupolis est durant tout l’été le siège d’un festival, et est animée toute l’année par des
activités culturelles, concerts, théâtre (théâtre “Apollon” ou “La petite Scala”), cinéma,
peinture, etc. ; plusieurs associations amicales et bénévoles, favorisent l’accueil.
Éducation: Écoles publiques et privées, universités, etc.
Loisirs: Écoles de danses, piscine olympique, tennis publics et privés, gymnases, voiles
et plongée, etc. Ces activités sont ouvertes toute l’année.
A proximité d’ Ermoupolis se situent: un aéroport qui assure la liaison vers Athènes
et un port qui permet d’aller au Pirée ou vers les iles de la mer Egée comme Mykonos,
Tinos, Paros, Naxos, Santorin etc.; un chantier naval, une marina, et trois chantiers pour
la plaisance, et un hôpital.
Syros est située près de Paros, Tinos et Mykonos elle est une île pleine de beautés et de
charme, avec ses paysages préservés, son authenticité et ses villages traditionnels. Ermoupolis, avec ses bâtiments vénitiens et néoclassiques est une des plus belles villes de
Grèce. De belles plages aux eaux cristallines et les villages typiques en font de Syros une
destination privilégiée.
