MRS. EB’s DRESS
You will work only in the exterior loops. This will help the ruffles stay perpendicular on
the dress. Continue working on the top you crocheted with R12 as follows:
a) In the SAME stitch work the following:
Ch 3, 2 tc (#p13), Ch 3 on top of the last tc, 1 sc.
b) 1 sc in the next stitch. (See image on left for result)
c) Repeat a) and b) all around the top.
You will obtain the ruffles. Arrange them alternatively – one up,
one down to give it the fluffy look like in the pictures on 1st page.

LEGS – section 1

TAIL
There are several ways for making a pom-pom. Here’s my way.

Pull thread through
a straw

Wrap yarn around
the thread and a pen
(the pom-pom will
be double the siz e
of what you see
wrapped)

Cut the loops and
trim the ends

And here it is!!!

Gently pull the
straw and pen
(make sure the
thread from the
straw doesn’t come
out)

Firmly knot the
ends of the thread
together

FLOWER
Using orange yarn make a magic ring (#)
R1: ch 1, sc 5 into the ring, pull ring closed (5 sts) (#)
R2: *ch 2 on top of the st where thread is, 2 dc in the same st, ch 2
on top of the last dc, bring down the chain to sc one in the same st
where you crochet the dc*. Repeat 5 times (for each st in the
magic ring)
Fasten off. Join with the previous petal.

NECK TIE
Make the tie after you have the head sown in place.
Chain enough stitches to wrap half of Mr. EB’s neck. Mark.
Continue chaining for the desired length of the tie. Come back
along the chain and slip stitch (#) until you get to the mark.
Chain enough stitches to wrap the other half on Mr. EB’s neck.
Join together the ends and weave them in.

SEW together all the parts to form the bunnies as pictured on page 1.
NOSE
Once the head is stuffed start the embroidery. (You can also use safety nose button).
Using pink embroidery floss, fold it in 4 plies, make a knot, insert needle somewhere in
the back, pull just enough to get the knot under the crochet.
Follow the next steps for his nose:

9. out through G
10. in through E
11. out through D

13. out through F

!TIP: You can stiffen the bunnies, by wetting their interior with a cotton ball saturated
in a starch solution. You can make the solution yourself: combine 2 tablespoons
cornstarch with ! cup of water. Mix until it’s smooth. Cook over medium heat until it
thickens. Cool before use.

# HOW TO:
GAUGE – Yarn can have different thickness. Also, you may crochet tighter or looser
then me. Therefore, starting by crocheting a gauge will help you obtain the sizes I
obtained for the bunnies.
My gauge is approx. 2 inches. I worked it with a 3.25 mm hook as follows:
R1: make a magic ring, ch1, sc 6 in the round, pull closed (#) (6sts)
R2: sc 2 in each st around, (12 sts)
R3: *1sc, sc 2 in next st* rep. 6 times (18 sts)
R4: *2sc, sc 2 in next st* rep 6 times (24 sts)
R5: *3sc, sc 2 in next st* rep 6 times (30 sts)

hook.

Crochet your own gauge. If your gauge is too big, try again using a
smaller hook. If your gauge is too small, try again using a bigger

MAGIC RING (also called magic circle/loop)
The best way to start crocheting in rounds is by making a ‘magic ring’. This will

Wrap yarn around
index finger from
front to back

Yarn around next
finger, from back
to front

Put hook through the
two loops formed on
2nd finger, yarn over
and pull through

You have one loop

You have one

Yarn over, pull
through

You have your first Continue with how

asks you. Count the
stitches (each V shape
is a stitch).

Loop one is now
closed

Pull the yarn’s end
to close 2nd loop

Start your first single
crochet into the ring:
yarn over, pull
through

You have two loops
on the hook

Closing the ring:
1. pull the end of the
yarn; 2. see what
loop moves
2. pull from the end
of that loop

You’re ready to start
the next round.

INVISIBLE DECREASE – as the name says, it creates a nice, discrete decrease without
holes.
Alternative: *1 single crochet, skip 1 stitch* repeat to the end of the round

Take 2 front loops
on the hook (try one
at time)

Yarn over

Yarn over and pull
through both loops

You have one loop.
Repeat as needed.

Pull through the 2
You will have two
loops. Tip: to pull it loops on the hook
easier, after you pull
it through the 1st
loop, turn the hook
with face up like in
this picture

BACK POST SINGLE CROCHET – I like using this technique to make a smooth
transition when changing colors.

Place new color
yarn along the old
one

The hook will enter
from the back to
front

And then from the
front to back under
the next stitch. (It
will go around the
vertical post of the
stitch)

Yarn over (using the
new color yarn; the
old color will be
weaved in). Pull
through the first 2
loops

You have now 2
loops on the hook

Yarn over and pull
through both
remaining loops

You have one loop
on the hook. Repeat
all these steps.

Note: for the next
BPSC you enter the
hook in the same
hole it exit before;

It looks like this !

FASTEN OFF & WEAVE IN - used when you finished crocheting a piece to secure and
hide the end of the yarn.

With the last stitch
on the hook, yarn
over

Pull through and
make a large loop

Cut the yarn

Put the yarn end
through a blunt
sewing hook and
weave it on the back
side of your crochet.

CLOSE HOLE - closes the hole remaining after crocheting in rounds a 3D piece.

Insert needle through
the front loops of all
stitches

Pull the yarn

The hole is closed.
Weave the end in

FRENCH KNOT - embroidery stitch

Hold the thread like
in the image

Wrap the yarn twice
(or 3 times if you
want the knot
bigger) around the
needle

Insert the needle in
the desired spot (in
the same spot if you
want just a dot)

Holding firmly the
yarn with the left
hand pull the needle
through the loops

Pull it all the way
and you should
obtain something
like this – a French
knot
