BETTER BONES AND GARDENS
A Film by Natalie Edler and Lindsey Clark
Produced in 2009 its premiere was at the Grand Rapids Film Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The film, an official
selection in the Student Documentary Category, follows Dan Phillips, a trash architect, and Kipp Nash, an urban
farmer as these men transform the common house and garden in wildly imaginative ways. Discarded cattle bones, wine
corks, DVDs, and bottle caps are used as building materials for homes, while manicured grassy front yards are transformed
into nutritious gardens. By following their passion for building and gardening, Dan and Kip believe they can help people save
money and keep our planet a little cleaner.
