This is a cute scarf for your little girl. This scarf is made of two parts. The first part is the basic scarf, and
the second part is the ‘cuteness’

CC3 : Contrast Colour # 2 : Red

Materials needed :
Yarns : DK weight acrylic (medium worsted; # 3) yarns ; MC : 65g (215 yds approx) ; CC1 : “skin” colour
for face ; CC2 black (for eyes) and black (for hair), CC2 : Red (for mouth),
Hook : 5 mm (H ; US 8) Crochet hook,
Embroidery needle : 1 no
Ribbon: A small length to ‘braid’ or tie ‘pony tails’
Eye: Ready made ‘eyes’ for your doll (else make one using CC2)
Size : (L) 48” ; (W) 4 3/4th”
Gauge : Gauge is not critical, but the designer achieved a gauge of 16 sc (across) = 4”, 4 sc rows
(vertical) = 1”
Skill Level : Easy
Embroidery skills : Basic skills needed to weave braids, sew, make eyes and mouth for doll

As per CYCA specs, yarn weight :

Part 1 : Start : With MC 5mm (H) hook, ch 9
Row 1 : sc in each ch across. Turn. (8 sc)
Row 2 : (Right side) : ch 1 (counts as an sc now and throughout), sc in each sc across. Turn.

Row 3 : (inc row) : ch 1, sc in same sc, sc to end, 2 sc in last sc. Turn. (10 sc)
Row 4 : ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn. (10 sc)
Row 5 : (inc row) : rep Row 3. Turn. (12 sc)
Row 6 : ch 1, sc in each sc across. (12 sc)
Row 7 : (inc row) : rep Row 3. Turn. (14 sc)
Row 8 : ch 1, sc in each sc across. (14 sc)
Row 9 : (inc row) : rep Row 3. Turn. (16 sc)
Row 10 : ch 1, sc in each sc across. (16 sc)
Row 11 : ch 1, *dc in next sc, sc in next sc*, rep from * to * till end. Turn (8 dc, 8sc)
Rep Row 11 till you reach 48” or desired length.
Note : In each row, you will have a dc in an sc and sc in a dc
Next Row : (dec row) : ch 1, sc in next sc, sk next sc (dec made), sc till 3 st remain, sk sc (dec
made), sc in last 2 sc (14 sc)
Next Row : ch 1, sc in each sc across. (14 sc)
Rep the above two rows till thrice till you have 8 sc.

Part 2 : Baby doll “pockets” (Make two)
Round 1 : With CC1 (skin colour), make a magic circle. 8 sc in circle. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
Round 2 : ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16 sc)
Round 3 : ch 1,*2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next sc*, rep from * to * till last sc, 2 sc in last sc. Join with sl st
to first sc. (24 sc)
Round 4 : ch 1, *2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 2 sc*, rep from * to * till last sc. Join with sl st to first sc. (32
sc)
Round 5 : ch 1, *2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 3 sc*, rep from * to * till last sc. Join with sl st to first sc. (40
sc)

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Round 6 : sc in each sc around (40 sc). Do not join with sl st, continue working in spirals. Place
a marker in the last sc for ease in counting rounds.
Rep Round 6 once more. Do not join, continue working in spirals. Place a marker in the last sc

Roll a newspaper (width 5-6”) and keep next to the little ‘baby doll face’ you’ve made.
Wrap CC2 (black) about 21 times evenly around this news paper. Keeping an extra length
of about 12”, cut your yarn.

end of yarn close to ‘head of doll’, and ‘knot’ up securely.

This is the part where we will make the little doll’s hair. Here is my suggestion for doing it.

Once this is tight and secure, cut your looped
yarns and you have a neat “pony tail” for your doll, or

Plait it up for a change.
6. Decorate the baby doll face with lovely eyes (using a ready-made button or CC2) and a
smiling mouth (using CC3).
7. Sew this cute doll to the ends of your scarf using the long MC tail.
8. Gift this and enjoy the smiles.
