Many studies and papers assert that a close relationship exists between organizational
environment and organizational commitment. Organizational environment is seen as a most
important variant for the success of organizations, due to its direct effect on the level and
satisfaction of workers, and subsequently on their behavior, performance level, loyalty, and
organizational commitment. The researcher, therefore, focuses on studying the organizational
environment at the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and the General
Administration of Security Precincts at the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain, with the
purpose of determining the nature of the current organizational environment and its relation to
organizational commitment in these two administrations.

Significance of the Study
The study derives its significance from the rising interest in organizational environment and in
the influence of a positive organizational environment in reaching a higher level of organizational commitment among organizational staff members, which facilitates the organizations’
endeavor to meet the purposes for which they have been established. Moreover, no previous
study has been made of organizational environment and organizational commitment at the
General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and the General Administration of
Security Precincts at the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain. Therefore, this study aims
at determining the nature of the environment and the level of organizational commitment in
these two administrations, in order to raise the level of organizational commitment among staff
members.
