Research Objectives
This study aims at
− determining the nature of organizational environment and the level of organizational commitment at
the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and the General Administration of
Security Precincts at the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain from the perspective of their staff
members; and



identifying the obstacles facing the organizational environment, with an attempt to offer
recommendations, which the researcher hopes to contribute in limiting these obstacles and,
consequently, contribute to the improvement of organizational environment and of the training
process efficiency in these security establishments.

Research Questions
The researcher will attempt, through this study, to arrive at answers to the
following main question: What is the relationship between organizational environment and organizational commitment in each of the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and the General
Administration of Security Precincts at the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain? The attempt to find
answers leads, in turn, to the following questions:
− What is the nature of the organizational environment at each of the General Administration of
Training and Guarding Duties and the General Administration of Security Precincts?
− What is the level of organizational commitment at each of the General Administration of Training
and Guarding Duties and the General Administration of Security Precincts?
− Are there any differences as regards the organizational environment and organizational commitment
among study subjects working at the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and
those working at the General Administration of Security Precincts?
− Do the attitudes of study subjects in the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and
those working at the General Administration of Security Precincts concerning organizational
environment and organizational commitment change with the change in the following demographic
variables: military rank, job, age, income, marital status, educational level, and years of service?



What is the relationship between the nature of organizational environment and organizational
commitment?
The Spearman correlation coefficient between the nature of organizational
environment and organizational commitment is figured out.

Research Methodology
In order to be able to determine the relationship between organizational environment and organizational
commitment in the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and those working at the
General Administration of Security Precincts, the researcher employed the comprehensive survey
technique, taking into consideration the small size of the research community. He also used the
documentary descriptive method based on collecting and analyzing the literature dealing with this subject,
including books, papers, and studies, in order to build a theoretical background for the study. .

Major Findings
The outcome of the study conducted in the General Administration of Training and Guarding Duties and
the General Administration of Security Precincts has shown that
− a statistically significant correlation does exist between the variable of the nature of the organizational
environment as a whole and organizational commitment, and
− the level of organizational commitment is high among officers who find the nature of the
organizational environment in the administration they work in appropriate, in spite of differences in
environment nature and commitment level between the two administrations to the advantage of
General Administration of Security Precincts. This confirms that an improvement in the
organizational environment leads to greater loyalty and organizational commitment, which in turn
leads to a higher level of worker performance.
