Zadi was lost in Mumbai when she asked to a lady passing by “Hi! Can you please tell me where I can
find the elementary school?”
It was an old Indian woman who replied “I’m a teacher there, let me drop you off by car”.
The lost teenager then said “Thank you so much! I’m totally lost and it’s so early in the morning! ”
She followed the old Indian woman into her car and repeated “Thank you!”
The Indian woman smiled and while she was driving she asked “Where do you come from?”
Zadi, a bit anxious, told her “I’m American, I mean, not really”
The old teacher laughed “How can you not be sure of what you are?”
The girl answered “I mean, my surrogate mother is Indian so I think …”
The Indian woman was so shocked that she stopped the car and then asked her “Were you looking for
Sarita?”
“Exactly! Do you know her?”
“Oh my god! It’s me! I’m your surrogate mother!”
Both of them was so happy, they hugged, they cried and then Zadi explained “I came here to discover
myself”
Her surrogate mother answered “You’re a miracle! That’s what you are!” She continued “Before you
were born, I had no money and was living poorly but then thanks to the surrogacy I could finally
afford studies to become a teacher. Also your parents were sad and with no child, and then you
brought joy and happiness to them! You’re a world-wide miracle!”
