Yarn: About 40 g of lace weight yarn
(70% Kid Mohair, 30% Polyamide) 240
m/25 g skein.
Needle: US 6 (4 mm) needles or size
needed to obtain gauge.
Notions
crochet hook and scraps of yarn (for
provisional cast on), markers, blocking
tools
Gauge (after blocking):
In Lace: 15 sts x 14 rows = 10 x10 cm
In Stockinette Stitch: 15 sts х 18 rows
= 10 х 10 cm
Finishing size:
Width (at the top edge) 160 cm
Length (along the center stitch) 70 cm
Abbreviations:
K = knit
P = purl
YO = yarn over

st(s) = stitch(es)
CS = center stitch

RS = right side
WS = wrong side
PM = place marker

Important!

The shawl has a triangular shape. The beginning of the shawl is at the center top edge, the increases are made
on both sides of the central stitch and along the edges of the shawl. Depending on the yarn weight and needle
sizes, you can make a smaller or larger shawl.

ДEach row starts and ends with 2 selvage stitches. Selvage stitches knit in all rows.
ДCenter stitch: RS rows - knit in back loop of stitch, WS rows – purl in back loop of stitch.
ДCharts 1-3 show one half of the shawl only.
Knit all the charts as follows: 2 selvage stitches, knit acc to chart till center stitch, center stitch, knit
acc to chart till last 2 stitches, 2 selvage stitches.
ДChart 4 shows whole edging, including selvage stitches.

ДCharts show both RS and WS rows. All stitches knit as they appear in RS rows, which means you have
to pay attention to EACH row

Instructions
Start:

ДUsing provisional cast on method, cast on 2 stitches: using provisional yarn with a crochet hook make a
chain of 4, then with main yarn pick up and knit 2 stitches knitting in the bumps on the back of the chain.
Knit for 17 rows. At the end of row 17 turn your work 90º clockwise, pick up and knit 7 stitches along the
longer side of the strip. Undo the provisional yarn and pick up the two open stitches onto the left-hand
needle and knit them (11 stitches on right-hand needle).

ДNext row (WS): K2, PM, P3, PM, P1, PM, P3, PM, K2
Markers are indicating the center stitch and the selvage stitches.
