CONTROLE
DU CANAL D’ENTREE
INPUT CHANNEL
CONTROL
3. HPF(High-Pass Filter) :
This switch toggles the HPF on or off. To turn the HPF on, press the
switch In ( ). The HPF cut frequencies below 75Hz.
4. ‘EQUALIZER’
This 3-band equalizer adjusts the channel’s high, mid and low
frequency bands. Setting the knob to the “0”
position produces a flat frequency response .Turning the knob to the
right boosts the corresponding
frequency band ,while turning to the left cuts the band.
The following table shows the EQ type, frequency, and maximum cut/
boost for each of the three bands.
1
2
3
5. AUX CONTROL
The AUX knob controls the signal level that the channel sends to the
AUX bus.
If you are using stereo channels, the signals from the L and R channels
are mixed and send to the AUX bus.
The AUX controls can be switched as pré fader or post fader controls.
Pré-fader aux outputs are not
influenced by the position of the channel fader and are mainly used to
control stage monitors. Post-fader Aux
outputs are also influenced by the channel faders and are mainly used
with effect modules.
4
5
6
7
6. PRE/POST SWITCH
This button determines whether the AUX signal will be used in Pre or
Post fader configuration. Pre means
not affected by the position of the channel fader. Post means is
affected by the position of the channel fader.
8
9
7.EFX CONTROL.
This knob controls the level of the signals sent to the EFX bus (to the
EFX SEND jack on the front panel and
to the internal effect module). The channel signals mixed by this bus
have their overall level set by the EFX SEND Control.
Since this control is placed after the channel fader, the signal level will
be affected by the channel fader’s setting.
12
1. PEAK LED INDICATOR
This LED indicator shows the level of the signal input of the
channel. The peak indicator lights up when the input signal
reaches 5dB below the channel’s clipping point. This
indicator shows the level of the Post-EQ/ pre-fader signal. If
the PEAK indicator lights more than briefly on high-level
transients, you should use the TRIM control to decrease the
input sensitivity of the channel. If this does not work, reduce
the output level of the connected source.
2. TRIM CONTROL
According to the level of the input signal, use this knob to
adjust the input to an appropriate level. The best balance of
S/N and dynamic range will be achieved if you adjust the
TRIM control so that the peak indicator lights occasionally.
This control adjusts the channel’s MIC input sensitivity
between -50dB and -6dB and the line input sensitivity
between -30dB and +14dB.
The mono/stereo combination input channels have a
sensitivity of +20dB to-20dB
8. PAN /BAL CONTROL PAN (Mono Channel)
This control pans the channel signal across the master L and R busses,
thus determining the perceived
position of the sound from that channel in the output stereo sound
field. If a PAN control is set all the way to
the left, for example, the sound from that channel will be heard from
the left speaker system only.
If it is set all the way to the right, the sound will be heard from the
right speaker system only.
Intermediate settings will cause the sound to appear at corresponding
locations in the stereo sound field.
BALANCE (Stereo Channel)
This control adjusts the balance or the L/R position of the stereo input
signal.
Turning the BALANCE control to the left of center moves the apparent
source toward the MAIN MIX L bus,
turning it to the right moves the source toward the MAIN MIX R bus.
9. MUTE/ALT 3-4 SWITCH
When the Mute/ALT 3-4 switch is pressed, the channel output will be
routed to the ALT 3-4 output instead of
the main L/R out.
The ALT 3-4 bus offers you a second independent stereo sub mix with
its own sub master stereo fader.
The switch lights up orange to indicate that the mute function is on.
10. PFL SWITCH
When this switch is pressed, the channel input signal can be routed to
the PFL bus. This switch allows you to monitor the pre-fader channel
input signal through the headphone outputs and the
control room outputs.
11
11. PFL INDICATOR
This indicator lights up when the PFL switch is turned on.

12. CHANNEL FADER
This is the channel’s main level control. It determines the level of the
signal that is sent from the channel to
the master mixing, group outs and post fader effect busses. It is the
settings of the input channel faders that
determine the mix, or the balance of sound levels between the
instruments or other sources connected to the
inputs. When a channel is not being used, its fader should be set at the
minimum position to prevent the
addition of unwanted noise to the main program signal.
15. AUX PRE CONTROL
Adjust the level of the signal sent from the internal
Digital effect to the AUX bus. Like this you can also
send for example some effect into your stage monitors
16. DSP ON/OFF SWITCH
This switch turns the internal digital effect on/off.
17. PFL SWITCH
Set this switch on if you wish to output the effect
signal to the PFL bus.
18. PFL INDICATOR
This indicator lights when the PFL switch is turned on.
19. ALT 3/4 OUTPUT FADER
This fader adjusts the output level of the ALT GROUP.
20. TO MAIN SWITCH
When this switch is on, the output signal of the ALT
3/4 subgroup will be sent to the MAIN L/R busses.

22. LEVEL METER SIGNAL SWITCHES
These level-meter switches, together with the channel
PFL switches, select the signal that is sent to the
CONTROL ROOM OUT jacks, the HEADPHONE
jack, and the LEVEL METER.
• If the input channel’s PFL switch is on
, then only the channel’s
PFL output is sent to the CONTROL ROOM OUT jacks, the HEADPHONE
jack, and the LEVEL METER.
• If the input channel’s PFL switch is off , then the MAIN L/R signal, the
ALT 3-4 signal or the
TAPE IN signal can be monitored via the CONTROL ROOM OUT jacks,
the HEADPHONE jack, and the LEVEL METER.
23. CTRL ROOM /PHONES CONTROL
Controls the signal output level of the PHONES and CONTROL ROOM
outputs.
24. TAPE IN CONTROL
This knob controls the level of the playback signal that is coming from
the TAPE IN RCA connectors, and that will be routed to the MAIN L/R
output.
25. MASTER AUX/FX SEND
• AUX Control :
Controls the general output level of all the channel AUX signals, that
will be sent to the AUX SEND jack outputs. ;
• EFX Control :
Controls the general output level of all the channel EFX signals, that
will be sent to the EFFECT unit and to
the EFX jack output.
Remark: if this level is set to zero, no audio signal will be sent to the
effect unit.

27. LEVEL METER
This LED display shows the level of the signal selected like described
in the LEVEL METER SIGNAL
SWITCHES (11) above. The “0” point corresponds to the standard
output level of +4dB.
B roadc asting & Pro duc tion Studio
Set this switch on when using one or more condenser microphones
that need to receive external power from the mixer.
NOTE: When this switch is on, the mixer supplies DC +48V power to
pins 2 and 3 of all XLR-type MIC INPUTS.
Be sure to leave this switch off ( ) if you do not need phantom
power.
When tuning the switch on ( ), be sure that only condenser MICs are
connected to the XLR input jacks.
Devices other than condenser MICs may be damaged if connected to
the phantom power supply.
Note, however, that the switch may be left on without problem when
connecting to balanced dynamic microphones.
* To avoid damage to speakers, be sure to turn off amplifier (on
powered speakers) before turning this switch on or off.
We also recommend that you turn all out controls (MAIN master fader,
ALT3/4 fader, etc.) to minimum settings before
operating the switch, to avoid risk of loud noises that could cause
hearing loss or device damage.
31. PHANTOM POWER INDICATOR
This indicator lights up when the phantom power is switched on.
CONNECTORS
2
1.CHANNEL INPUTS
BALANCED MIC XLR Connectors
These are balanced XLR-type input jacks (1: Sleeve, 2: Hot, 3:Cold)
BALANCED LINE IN JACK Connectors
A standard 1/4” TRS phone jack is used for balanced or unbalanced
line level signals, like used with most
electronic keyboards, synthesizers, tape decks and the line outputs
from other mixers.
2.CHANNEL INSERT I/O JACK
These are input/output jacks located between the head-amplifier and
the high pass filter.
These jacks can be used to independently connect these channels to
devices such as graphic equalizers,
compressors, and noise filters. These are 1/4” TRS (tip, ring, sleeve)
phone jacks that support bi-directional
operation.
NOTE: Connection to an INSERT I/O jack requires a special separatelysold insertion cable such as illustrated below.

3. CHANNEL INPUT JACKS
These are unbalanced stereo line input connectors. Two types are
provided: Jack type and RCA pin type.
For stereo signals, you need of course to connect both Left and Right
channels.
Channels CH9/10 and CH11/12 can also be used for mono signals. If
you need to connect a mono signal,
then use only the L MONO Jack input. When the mixer detects no
connector in the R input, it will spread the
signal of the L MONO Jack input over both L and R channels.
NOTE: Channels 9/10 and 11/12 provide 2 types of inputs: jack and
RCA connectors. Please use only one
of these inputs for each channel. Never use both input types at the
same time on the same channel.
4. STEREO RETURN L (MONO), R JACK
These are unbalanced 1/4” TRS phone-type line input jacks. The signal
received by these jacks is sent to the
MAIN bus and AUX buss. These jacks are mainly used to receive a
return signal from an external effect
(reverb, delay, etc.)
NOTE: These jacks can also be used as an auxiliary stereo input. If you
need to connect a mono signal, then
use only the L MONO Jack input. When the mixer detects no connector
in the R input, it will spread the
signal of the L MONO Jack input over both L and R channels.
5. TAPE IN RCA connectors
Use these RCA connectors when you want to connect a CD, DAT or
other external sound source directly to
the mixer for monitoring.

Input A is set to the micro level on channels 1-3 for the line level
on channels 4 and 5 and phono level on channel 6 unless otherwise
stated.
2. Rotary GAIN potentiometers : The GAIN potentiometers offer a
range of 24 dB variable (from - 12 to + 12 dB) depending on the source
connected to the internal 0 dBu. level
3. The equalizer: it has three settings. The upper treble button (HIGH)
can increase and decrease of +6 to -12 dB at 13 kHz and the lower bass
button (BASS) is used to increase and decrease +6 / -12 dB at 60 Hz
The center button is activated as a midrange setting (MID), with an
attenuation / amplification adjustment of + 6 to - 12 dB for a frequency
range from 80 Hz to 10 kHz.
Set the button of each section to the center-detented position when no
adjustment is necessary.
5. PFL: The pre listening stereo key (PFL) (enabled only in locked
mode) allows listening pre (post-EQ) with the closed channel fader.
Even when the channel is active, the PFL system is active. It always
works in the ADDITIVE mode (eg. You can listen to one or more PFL at
the same time by pressing one or more keys PFL).
To listen to a PFL:
1) Select the PFL button on the control input channel;
2) Release the EXT-IN MASTER and MONITOR section of the keys.
6. Potentiometers: 100mm slide potentiometers in very smooth
running mans series. The scale shows the attenuation. Normal
operating position is at the top: brand ‘0 ‘, providing typically 0 dB gain.
7. CANAL Module 1 (labeled DJ Mic-Line) can be considered a
«priority» channel: POST-EQ signal (pre-fader) is always routed to the
internal circuit TALKBACK and telephone channels for communication
(Off air) «private» with callers. Post-Fader Output Channel Master is
also directed to the TALKOVER section for mixing voice / automatic
music. We recommend that you use the First Channel as a «micro»
connected to the DJ / Announcer microphone channel.
4. MASTER key: The input channel signal can be routed to the main
mix stereo (MASTER L / R) by pressing the MASTER switch. There is a
green LED that lights up accordingly.

8. Phone module: It includes a telephone hybrid.
This module has two gain settings, PFL, the Master output, hybrid
controls answer / call. It has connections to a regular phone line
(POTS) and an external standard (eg for dialing) telephone. Automatic
compensation of the line is also available.
7
8
9
The audio sent to the caller phone is a Mix-Minus (N-1). Mix-Minus
signal is the output of the program with the phone signal removed (the
voice of the caller).
10
The presenter can talk offline with a caller (while the main program
is production) through its own microphone (connected to channel 1
module).
11
9 Key HOOK. It allows answering. This switch picks up / hang up the
hybrid from the telephone line.
13
14
12
The «hook» LED lights accordingly. The same LED flashes when a call
(ring) is in progress. Please note: the LED lights only if the telephone
line is connected.
10. RECEIVE Key: This adjusts the level of the incoming signal caller
phone in the range of + / - 12 dB.
11. SEND Key: This adjusts the signal level Mix-Minus which is sent to
the caller phone in the range of + / - 12 dB.
12. MEETING Key: It allows the signal to be heard also by the other
calling party telephone.
13. MASTER key: It connects the output of the phone to the master
output. The LED in the button lights up accordingly.
14. PFL Key: pre stereo listening (PFL) (enabled only in locked mode)
allows a caller to listen to the presenter / DJ microphone (connected to
channel 1) and to be heard without being on the show (ie with the fader
closed).
15. rotary potentiometer OUTPUT 1: It controls the signal level at the
output labeled OUTPUT 1 (symmetrical).
16. rotary potentiometer OUTPUT 2: Controls the signal level at the
output labeled OUTPUT 2 (symmetric).
17. BALANCED rotary potentiometer: It controls balance signal on
OUTPUT FIXED labeled 1-2-3 and outputs.
15

18
18. rotary potentiometer OUTPUT 3: It controls the level of the output
signal on output labeled OUTPUT 3 (asymmetrical).
19
19. The Talk Over section enables the compression of all signals of CH
2-6 and telephone channels for the output signal CHANNEL1 (Master).
This means that you can automatically lower the level of music signals
(from the stereo module) based on the signal level of microphone MIC
1. This section will affect the MASTER outputs.
20
21
22
20. rotary potentiometer DEPTH: Controls the compression ratio: the
lower the value, the lower the level of compressed audio. The Talk Over
feature can be disabled by turning the depth to the position 10.
21. THR adjustment potentiometer (ESHOLD): This is the hole and
sets the intervention threshold level of the compressor (Use a small
screwdriver to avoid damage to the potentiometer).
22. adjustment potentiometer REL (EASE): It adjusts the release time of
the compressor: the higher the value (turn clockwise), and more time
is required to return to the old audio level. (Use a small screwdriver to
prevent damage to the potentiometer).
23. The Monitor section supports a pair of headphones over a Line Out
with separate level controls
25. Setting EXT IN: It adjusts the EXT IN the level of the input signal (eg,
a signal tuner)

Mixing table - broadmix 14
Ref. 12004
Find this product on www.bbeam.com
DESCRIPTIF
Compact, cost effective and versatile… the Broadmix 14 is designed for a broad range of applications from small radio
or internet broadcast studios, to larger studios with multiple rooms, hospital radio, university radio and community
radio. The Broadmix 14 is equipped with a wealth of features specifically for broadcasters, including telephone
communication modules for telephone callers, mic fader start sensing for external connection and internal automatic
muting of the speaker outputs, stereo channel start/cue outputs for CD deck transport control, separate headphones
mix & outputs for guests, an audition bus, and much more!
Mic/Line Pre-amps
The Broadmix 14’s two stage pre-amp design, offers an expansive and controlled gain range (69dB). Most of the gain
comes from the first stage, so unwanted noise is kept to a minimum, and the second stage is padless, with line level
signals simply plugged in using the input jack socket, which means lower noise when using the line input.

EQ
The Broadmix 14 is equipped with a 3-band equaliser circuit on each mono input and a 2-band EQ on the Telco and
stereo channels. The frequency and response of each has been carefully chosen to give the maximum performance
when using the EQ on a variety of sources.
AUX Bus and MIX B stereo Bus
Broadmix 14 has a single Auxiliary bus that can be used for external processing, effects, recording or auditioning. A
separate stereo mix bus is provided for recording an independent mix to the main program mix, or creating a clean
feed source with selected channels.
Remote Control
The mono mic/line channels have fader start logic switching, enabling them to control external equipment or
automatically mute the speaker outputs to prevent acoustic feedback in localised or self-operated applications.
The stereo channels have ‘start & cue’ logic outputs to connect to external equipment such as CD players. There
are also options to mute the mono inputs remotely using an external “cough” switch or similar.
USB
Just plug in a USB lead and select the USB routing to enable quality audio to and from your PC or Mac. (source 10).
Self or Producer Operated
Separate monitor mixes can be created for operator, guests or presenter so the engineer can check levels and cue
sources while the presenter or guest can listen to a different source. The engineer/producer can communicate to
the studio using the ‘Talk’ feature, or off-air to telephone callers.
