TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OFFICIAL AFS #SYDNEYJETAIME PHOTO COMPETITION
1.1 The sponsors of the Alliance Française de Sydney for #sydneyjetaime photo competition are Yves
Hernot, Mérivale (Félix Restaurant), Cartell Music, Ladurée and Franck Provost Paris.
2.1 The competition ends 31 July 2016 at 11:59 pm (entry deadline).
2.2 Contest is void where prohibited.
3. WHO MAY ENTER
3.1 This competition is open to residents of Australia.
3.2 Employees of the Alliance Française de Sydney and members of jury are not eligible to enter the

4. HOW TO ENTER
4.1 General rules
4.1.1 All information detailing how to enter this competition form part of these terms and
conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the
competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no
correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance
of these terms and conditions.
4.1.2 Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility
can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof o f
receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
4.1.3 Photos taken using mobile phones or camera are accepted and must be attached as a JPEG or
4.1.4 Using Photoshop or editing software is allowed.
4.1.5 Each submitted photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by
the contest entrant. By entering the contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants
that he or she has full power and authority to enter the photograph, and that the photograph
does not infringe any copyright or violate any other intellectual property rights.
4.1.6 It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken
with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any
laws. Entrants confirm that each individual whose image is featured in the competition entry
has given consent for the use of his/her image. Where an individual whose image is featured
in a competition entry is aged less than 18 years the entrant confirms that the parent or
guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent.
The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Alliance Française de
Sydney and its sponsors, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or
otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Photographs deemed inappropriate will be
The entries will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined below.
The winners may be required to take part in publicity and marketing activities.
4.2 Application process
4.2.1 Entries should be submitted via a social network among these three and only theses three:
Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
4.2.2 The contestant must like or follow the page of the Alliance Française de Sydney on the social
network he/she has selected, that is to say:
4.2.3 The contestant must post his/her photograph on his/her own account with the hashtag
#sydneyjetaime and tag the Alliance Française de Sydney’s page by using the ‘@’ (for
instance: @afsydney on Instagram).
4.2.4 Entrants have to write a short sentence that explains the scene.
4.2.5 The published photo must remain online until the end of the contest.
4.3 Competition schedule
4.3.1 The Competition is divided into 4 stages:
The submission period runs from 1 June 2016 to 31 July 2016.
Before 15 August 2016, the jury will select the winner for each prize.
A Ceremony Award will be organised at the Alliance Française de Sydney.
The 10 best photographs are printed and exhibited from the Award Ceremony to the
end of August at the Alliance Française de Sydney.
5.1 Contest consists of two rounds of evaluation. In round one, an expert panel selected by the
Alliance Française de Sydney will each review the entries and select a group of entries to proceed
to round two. In round two, the jury will collectively select, from among the entries selected in
round one, the winner of each prize.
5.2 Limit one prize per winner.
5.3 Entries will be judged more on the basis of creativity and effectiveness in expressing the contest
theme than on photographic quality.
5.4 Decisions of the jury are final and binding.
5.5 The Alliance Française de Sydney and its sponsors reserve the right not to award all prizes in the
event an insufficient number of eligible entries meeting the minimum judging criteria are
received, as determined by Sponsors and Jury in their sole discretion.
6. COMPETITION PRIZES
6.1 Prizes are specified on the Alliance Française de Sydney website.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.1 By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Alliance Française de
Sydney, and each of their respective partners, employees, directors, and representatives from any
claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest-related
activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
7.2 Australian law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian Courts shall prevail.
