STARTUP OPEN HOUSE VOLUNTEERS
Startup Open House is looking for exceptionally driven, organized, and talented volunteers to
help plan the 2016 edition of Startup Open House in Montréal.
Instead of companies presenting at stuffy career fairs or sterile conferences, we bring the public
into the workspaces so they can experience the funky and unique startup lifestyle. Startup Open
House is about showcasing and celebrating the innovative startups that are redefining
entrepreneurship—and helping them succeed by attracting talent, building networks, and
increasing their visibility.
Startup Open House originated in Montréal’s startup community and this year, we’re going
global. We want to make sure our event here is bigger, better, crazier, and cooler than in other
cities. We’re looking for volunteers who believe in the vision and mission of the event to help us
bring it to the next level.
We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Are you fascinated with the technology and innovation community in Montréal? Do you crave an
opportunity to get involved, interact, and network with Montréal startups? You will be in charge
of building a startup outreach strategy, identifying key players and reaching out. 57 hours/week.
You are a detailoriented person with a fantastic grasp on event planning. You will be the brains
of the operation, responsible for thinking through how to run the smoothest (3000 person) event.
You are also the best person to launch a crazy afterparty! Light workload in the summer,
getting more intense in the leadup to the event, on September 22.
3. Marketing and Social Media.
You are creative and think big. We want to build disruptive, massive, creative, digital, guerilla
marketing campaigns and we want your ideas. 1015 hours per week throughout the summer,
until the event on September 22.
You are the pointperson to showcase the event in national paper and digital media. You have
good ideas, know have to do things well.
5. MUST be available on the day of event, September 22!
