Postdoc position: Analysis of chromosome topology in erythroid cells
Place: Institute of Molecular Genetics of Montpellier (IGMM), France

A 2-years postdoctoral position is available at IGMM Montpellier to identify and study novel
regulators of chromatin looping in erythroid cells. The work will be carried-out in Dr. Eric Soler’s lab
and will be funded through the EpiGenMed Labex.

Scientific context and work program:
Erythroid differentiation relies on tightly controlled transcriptional regulatory networks embedded
within spatially organized three-dimensional chromatin structures. How chromatin loops are
regulated to accommodate for changes in gene expression through enhancer-gene communications is
only partially understood. Specifically, the regulation of enhancer-gene looping events during cellular
differentiation or in response to extracellular signaling remains obscure.

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to (i) identify regulatory factors involved in
chromatin loop formation and modulation, and (ii) functionally characterize such factors using
proteomics and functional genomics tools.

The successful candidate will set-up high-throughput genetic screens (Crispr/Cas9) and assays to fulfill
these tasks. A strong technical background in molecular biology is required. Expertise in ChIP-Seq,
4C/Hi-C technology and/or high-throughput screens would be ideal. Knowledge of hematopoiesis and
erythropoiesis would be an added value, but is not an absolute requirement.

The work program will be carried-out in the group of Eric Soler who recently joined the Institute of
Molecular Genetics of Montpellier (IGMM). The group will be composed of 3 full-time researchers, 1
informatician, 2 postdocs and 2 technicians/engineers. The successful candidate will have access to all
IGMM state-of-the art core facilities and platforms, and will work in a highly dynamic and international

The position will be opened in the beginning of 2017.

To apply, please send a CV, motivation letter and names/contact information of two to three
