Postdoctoral position
Biochemistry of natural product biosynthetic pathways
An ANR‐funded postdoctoral position is available in the team of Dr Muriel Gondry at the
CEA of Saclay (located 15 km south of Paris). Our team is interested in the deciphering of
biosynthesis pathways of diketopiperazines, secondary metabolites from microorganisms
with noteworthy biological properties. Further information about the Gondry team can
be found at:

The postdoctoral project consists in continuing the characterization of the activities of
the enzymes involved in these biosynthesis pathways as well as initiating the
combinatorial engineering of these pathways to biosynthesize new molecules. It will be
conducted under the supervision of Dr. Pascal Belin.
Duration: 2 years
Salary: ~ 55 k€ per year (gross) depending on qualifications
Possible start of employment: from june 2017 to december 2017
Project ANR‐16‐CE29‐0026‐01
Candidates must be young researchers with a PhD or equivalent. They must have
expertise in protein biochemistry and cloning techniques in E. coli. Knowledge in
analytical chemistry, enzymatic catalysis or biosynthesis of natural products will be
appreciated. We are looking for voluntary and enthusiastic people to join our team and
work with our partners from the Paris‐Sud University and the Pierre et Marie Curie
University. Applicants must send cover letter, CV, a brief description of their previous
work and the names and contact details for referees to pascal.belin@cea.fr.
