The Rural Heritage Communes of Central Brittany
This association was created in 1987 by mayors, worried about
safeguarding and emphasizing the architectural and landscape
heritage of their communes.
In order to aspire to the Label, municipalities have tohave a rural
aspect and have fewer than 3500 inhabitants. They must also have
an outstanding architectural and landscape heritage.
Signing the Charter of Quality implies a strong commitment from
the municipality in the following :
. The restauration and emphasis on architectural heritage.
. The raising of awareness among the population in order to protect
and value it.
. The cultural and tourist development notably through the
implementation of walks designed to discover and interpret the
heritage sites and a programme of high quality activities.
. A strong communication and promotional policy of the heritage.
The Label, awarded for a period of five years, is the element of
unity and reference of the associated municipalities.
