How Does it Work?
The organizations listed in this section have expressed an interest in receiving volunteers and
have registered directly with the CJE Pontiac. They
are aware that young people are likely to contact
them during the year. These organizations have
provided the name of a Contact Person you can
get in touch with to register as a volunteer.

This
section
lists
the
various
organizations and events across the
Pontiac that may need volunteers. As
these organizations have not directly
contacted the CJE Pontiac to register, it
is up to you to make the first move!

CONTACT AN ORGANIZATION
1 Take your phone and dial the number (yes-your phone can also be use to make a call, not just to send
snapchats!)
2 Ask to talk with the Contact Person whose name appears in the directory, or to the person in charge
of volunteers.
3 Introduce yourself. State your name, where you are from (school or town) and explain that you are
available to do some volunteer work.
4 Ask the organization when they would need your help. If you have limited availability, specify the
occasions when you would be free.
5 If you sign-up to volunteer, make sure you note all the details (time, location, material needed, etc.)
If there are currently no possiblities, ask when you can call back to offer your services again.

IMPORTANT:
A police check may be required for volunteers
Working with vulnerable persons
(Children, seniors, disabled persons, etc.)
This verification is free for volunteers!
