AN ALTERNATIVE AND
CREATIVE BUSINESS MODEL

By collecting a territorial creative contribution (TCC) on
each capsule sold to professionals (shops, local authorities,
cultural organisations, etc), Divercities proposes a unique
and fair model of remuneration for the original artistic
creator, even if the app remains free for users.
Developed by the French-based cooperative, 1D Lab, and an
international network of partners, the project aims to
emphasize the visibility of cutting edge artist and
creativity in digital and physical spaces.

Creating capsules contributes to and supports local artists
and creatives and refreshes cultural diversity.

cultural multimedia content on your event or venue personality, made by you.

A COLLABORATIVE AND
PARTICIPATIVE PROJECT

Innovation can no longer take place without considering
its intended users.
We strongly believe that, beyond technology, new models and services can
emerge throughout participatory processes. Divercities has therefore been
developed through an elaborate course of creative and collaborative workshops
and applied design thinking.
We engaged directly with our own local neighbourhoods, working with
professionals and citizens (locals and tourists) in communities of 1D Lab offices
in St Etienne (Rue connectée), Lyon (App’ heroes), Marseille (Dimanches de la
Canebière) and Brussels (Points culture), creating a strong and increasing level
of community engagement from the start of the project.

A EUROPEAN NETWORK
OF CREATIVE AND
INNOVATIVE CITIES

A 4-year European cooperation program with 9 partners in Aix-en
Provence (F), Barcelona (ES), Bergen (N), Berlin (D), Bristol (UK), Kuopio
(FI), Liepaja (LV), Montréal (CA), Zagreb (CR) to explore new collective
and creative models to engage, create, distribute cultural and creative
artwork while supporting fair pay for independent artists and creatives.
