POLYCHLOROPHENOLS 
 
General Information 
They  are  substances  derived  from  phenol in which several molecule hydrogen atoms have 
been replaced by chlorine atoms. Among them are:

Pentachlorophenol (PCP) 
­ ​
Isomers of Tetrachlorophenol (TCPs) 
These  are  chemical  substances   which  are   used   as  pesticides,  in  industrial  and  domestic  
applications. It can be used as a preservative in textiles and leather goods. 
 
Toxicology 
They are carcinogenic & highly toxic if ingested or inhaled.
