WHY

UNITED FOR CAMBODIA CHILDREN’S?

Our project and its challenges
Successful education is an essential success factor for social and professional
integration. That is why the President of United For Cambodian Children's, Kattia
Huy, decided to create a linguistic cultural center in Phnom Penh to help children
learn French, English and Spanish.
This educational project targets the most disadvantaged: abandoned children,
children from poor families, and those who do not have the chance to go to school.
The objective of the association is to enrich the Cambodian youth by providing them
with cultural and linguistic diversity.
This cultural center must become a real hope for these poor Cambodian children to
whom we offer a place where openness to the world is the priority.
Thanks to your generosity, these children will have the chance to build a better
future.

The guardian angel of Cambidian children
Trials endured by Kattiamoni during her childhood in Cambodia naturally
designated her to become the ideal ambassador for underprivileged children in
Siem Reap and to become the president of the NGO United For Cambodian
Children's.
Indeed, the life of this little girl from an influential and wealthy family, has
dramatically changed on April 17th, 1975, day of the taking of Phnom Penh by the
Khmers Rouges and beginning of a reign of terror that would decimate more than
three millions Cambodians.
After overcoming the abominable living conditions imposed by Pol Pot's men, she
managed to flee to Vietnam and then to Europe. There, she had to relearn
freedom, happiness and forgiveness.
After years of reconstruction, today more than ever, Kattiamoni wants to help the
children of his country through the United For Cambodian Children's NGO, by
offering them access to education and an conducive environment for building a
decent future for the next generations.

Kattiamoni HUY
President of
United For Cambodian Children’s.

Educating a child in love
‘’…If a child lives in injustice, he learns to condemn. If a child lives in hostility, he learns to
fight. If a child lives in shame, he learns to feel guilty. If a child lives in tolerance, he learns
patience. If a child lives in encouragement, he learns trust. If a child lives in praise, he
learns gratefulness. If a child lives in equity, he learns the meaning of justice. If a child
lives in approval, he learns to love himself. If a child lives in friendship and acceptance, he
learns to find Love...
The word "Progress" makes no sense as long as there are unhappy children. Please, let us
help each other, so that the world of tomorrow can be better... "This is the message from
Dorothy Law Nolte, inspired by the UN Convention on Child’s Rights, that I want to pass on
and that motivates my actions and my involvement with the Cambodia children…’’.
- Kattia Huy
President of United For Cambodian Children’s

THE ACTIONS OF

UNITED FOR CAMBODIA CHILDREN’S

Cultural center
The language cultural center in Phnom Penh welcomes 25 children from the shantytowns. To date, only French classes have started and
at the end of each day, a snack is offered.

For the past month, we have been fortunate to help these children and we hope that with your support, this project will succeed and
grow. We are planning various activities such as dance and soon English and Spanish will be taught there.
It is also possible to sponsor a child for $70 USD per month.
We have to help each other to help the children because they all are, from every origin or every environment, the hope of tomorrow.
“… Poor children’s education is the corner stone of any kind of charity…“
