This 80’ heavyweight diner car is two-tone green with white lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger
trucks. In the early 1950s, Northern Pacific’s North Coast Limited was painted in the classic two-tone
green paint scheme developed by Raymond Loewy. These cars continued to serve NP through the mid1960s.

trucks. Built in 1925 for Southern, this dining car was used in Florida service and on extra trains not
adhering to the regularly published schedule. Containing 12 dining tables and a full kitchen, these cars
were fully outfitted for luxury dining.

These 50’ rib side box cars with single door and no roofwalk are blue with yellow lettering and run
on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built by FMC in the late 1970s for Railbox, it was later transferred to
C&O, then Seaboard, and finally arrived on the CSX roster in the 1980s. Shopped in the 2010s, the car
received a fresh coat of CSX blue.

This 89’ tri-level closed autorack is yellow with black lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing
trucks. This design became the universal standard for most railroads by the mid-1970s. Commonly
used to this day, the design prevented vandalism and pilferage and helped to protect vehicles from the
elements.

This 3-bay covered hopper with elongated hatches is grey with green band and runs on Barber Roller
Bearing trucks. Formed in 1983, the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern is a regional freight railroad
operating 300 miles of track in eastern Pennsylvania. Sometimes shortened to just “Reading & Northern,” the railroad primarily transports coal, but also operates a fleet of general service freight cars to
service various industries along the way.

This 40’ double-sheathed wood reefer with vertical brake wheel is brown with yellow decorated sides and runs
on Bettendorf trucks. The Illinois Canning Co. was founded in 1875 by S.S. McCall in the town of Hoopeston,
Illinois. Later changing its name to “Joan of Arc,” the company produced a variety of food products, including
Fancy Red Kidney Beans, and Fancy Country Gentleman Sugar Corn.

This 36’ riveted steel caboose with offset cupola is red with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf Swing
Motion trucks. Built in the 1940s, this caboose was shopped several times, receiving roof upgrades, interior
reconditioning, and new paint. It was eventually relegated to local and transfer service before being retired
in the 1970s.

This 40’ hy-cube box car with single door is brown with white lettering and runs on Roller Bearing trucks.
These B-50-53 class boxcars were pooled and used in appliance service, and were built for Southern Pacific in
1965. Featuring DF loader technology and a Hydra-Cushion underframe, they were also excess height cars to
allow more vertical room for bulky commodities.

These 70’ well cars are yellow with black lettering and run on Roller Bearing trucks. Built in early 1992,
these TTX well cars accepted containers up to 48’ in length in the bottom well position. Founded in 1955
as “Trailer-Train,” the company standardized TOFC practices and fostered the growth of rail transportation. The Trailer-Train brand was retired in 1991 as the company rebranded simply as “TTX.”

These SD40-2 powered locomotives are grey with red nose and white lettering. Built in the late 1960s
for Southern Pacific as an SD40, these units went through the extensive G.R.I.P. rebuild program, and
were released as SD40R’s. Upgrades included electrical, crew amenity and headlight improvements.
Many continued to serve in this paint scheme through the 2000s, even after SP was merged into UP
in 1996.

National Steel Car company was one of three manufacturers enlisted by TTX Company to build their
new fleet of 60’ excess height boxcars in 2003. These heavy-duty cars featured double plug doors

The Northern Pacific heavyweight cars released in November and
December of 2018 (#145 00 320 and #142 00 320) have been
recalled due to the ‘monad’ logo colors being printed in the incorrect
positions. We are very sorry for this error.
If you want to send in your car for the replacement car, please see
the specific return instructions on our website by clicking on the ‘NP
Heavyweight Recall’ link on the left navigation bar. Replacement cars
with corrected logo colors will be available this May or June ’19.

DRAWING DETAILS:
Anyone 12 years old and up can participate in the drawing. No purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person allowed for the entire drawing period (thru December’19). One
participant will be randomly drawn each month. Micro-Trains employees are not eligible.
Participants can enter the drawing by mailing in the entry form or online at the Micro-Trains website. There is no advantage by submitting entries digitally or by mail-in. Once entered
into the drawing, participants will remain in the drawing unless they are drawn as a winner. Once drawn as a winner, their entry will be removed and they cannot reenter the drawing in
future months. Entries can be submitted March 1st through November 15th, 2019. The last drawing will be conducted during the end of November and announced December 1st.
All participants must agree to let MTL advertise their name as the winner in the Micro-News flyer, MTL website and Facebook, if drawn. Prizes will be shipped out to winners during the
first half of each month, with the Anniversary Car shipping to winners during September through December.
